Since 1981, when Debra Engelken purchased her first 35mm camera she has been honing
her artistic eye. Photography has always been her passion; however, Debra had intended
to one day assume the family business - Bucky's Drive In, an iconic restaurant in
Lawrence, KS. In 2003, a family illness led to an epiphany for Debra. She realized she
should channel her energy in a way that was best both for her family and the community.
This meant instead of following in her father's footsteps she would follow her passion and
Debra Engelken's Photography was born. For Debra, photography isn't work - it is fun!
Now married with one child in college and the other one in high school, Debra continues to
prepare for an 'empty nest' by fulfilling her passion and enjoying the quality of life she
had previously only imagined.
Debra's desire and commitment to both her family and community are being realized
today through Debra Engelken's Photography's high quality yet affordable photographs.
There are no hidden fees or minimum requirements for orders. We believe that everyone
